Psychometric Profiling

"Know Thyself" has long been a truth recycled by generations. "Know Thyself" was inscribed at the temple of Apollo in Delphi, and held up as an ideal in Latin and Christian philosophy. Closer home, Hindu and Buddhist philosophies also talked about "AtmanamViddhi" - Know thyself!

These words of eternal significance are perhaps the best advice that has ever been given to man or woman. At FOCUS we believe that any intervention to make a difference to individuals, teams or leaders, begins with exploring this dictate.

While modern learning has thrown up a slew of useful tools, certain instruments work best in highlighting certain facets. We work closely with organizations to understand their needs and suggest appropriate instruments.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)

One of the most widely used personality instruments in the world, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator was originally created for the purpose of helping people make better career matches and appreciate differences. Today we apply MBTI to the workplace, so that participants gain self awareness of their working behavior, drawing our their potential and improving relationships.

MBTI is used extensively by us in our sales training programs, team building programs and also as a stand-alone program for organizations wanting to experience this powerful tool. For organizations who have not been touched by this instrument, we strongly recommend the MBTI for its power to make a difference.

DISC

DISC profiling is a classic personality profiling tool based on the work by William Moulton Marston in 1928. DISC provides a non-judgemental language for exploring behavioural issues across 4 primary dimensions: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Conscientiousness. By better understanding themselves participants can build a more cohesive team.

Team Development Inventory

Of all the challenges faced by large corporations today, team building ranks as the biggest and the most critical. Using a range of tools and techniques, the Team Development Inventory assesses a teams needs and generates true commitment to team building from participants in a short period of time. This results in measurable improvements in a teams subsequent performance.

Leadership Practices Inventory

Developed by Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner, the third edition of this celebrated instrument package approaches leadership as a measurable, learnable and teachable set of behaviours. This 360 degree leadership assessment tool helps individuals and organisations measure their leadership competencies, while guiding them through the process of applying Kouzes and Posner's acclaimed Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership model to real-life organizational challenges. At FOCUS Adventure we apply the LPI to experiential learning activities to maximize learning outcomes for participants.





FIRO-B

The FIRO-B (Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation-Behaviour) The FIRO-B (Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation-Behaviour) is a personality instrument that assesses how a person usually behaves towards others and how that person would like others to behave towards him/her. FIRO-B provides feedback on interpersonal style and its appropriateness in relationships on three dimensions: Inclusion, Control and Affection
